How To Make Tempeh
For sucessfully tempeh making, please pay attention of your tempeh starter expiration date.
this product will last for only 6 month after its production date, you can find the info of its production date and expiry date on the back of its original package after received. you can also find the info on our listing pictures
Ingredients:
370 grams of good quality soybeans.
Best Soybeans for making tempeh have evenly yellow in color., have an almost perfect Round shapes, Dry., Look mature enough, look and feels Solid in your hands
1/3 teaspoon Raprima tempe yeast (1.64 grams)
1 tablespoon of rice flour
Direction:
Wash the soybeans, then soak for 5 hours.
Boil the soybeans for 25 minutes
Then soak them overnight
On the next day remove the soybeans hulls/husks by gently squish the soybeans, then wash them until completely clean & then drain them well.
Boil the soybeans again for 5-10 minutes, this purpose is to sterilze the soybeans.
Mix the rice flour & raprima yeast, then sprinkle evenly on the soybeans
Put the soybeans on the step 5 to the banana leaves or plastic wrap.
If you use a transparent plastic wrap do not forget to be give small holes in the plastic, this provide a little air flows to the wrap, but do not put too much holes in the plastic.
Close the wraps with a clean and dry cloth and keep away from the sun light
